About Me

We’ll if might have guessed my name is Greg Futia. You are probably clicked on this page wondering what I do for work and maybe what hobbies I enjoy.

I work in a Dr. Gibson’s biophotonics laboratory at the University of Colorado. In this lab we build multiphoton microscopes to study neuroscience. Most of this work involves imaging and stimulating mice brains in vivo. Put another way, we build microscopes to perform mind control.

I earned a PhD in this same laboratory. For my PhD I worked on better methods to detect circulating tumor cells.

Here is a link that has a list of all the papers I’ve been on.

For hobbies, I go swimming and hang out with my family. I’m working on getting my kids into golf and skiing. Before I had kids I used to build 3D printers. I have some pages on this site about that.
